Taylor Lum 2011 Minor Atom Star

Born 2002, Taylor Lum walked in at last tryout for the 2011 Minor Atoms.  She skated at an elite-level, could see the ice well and clearly loved to play. In that first GTHL season, Taylor played in every one of 77 games, and didn’t miss a practice in 3 years. She had 'big moment' performances and earned everything she got. Her scoring stats were 3rd highest, and the team won their division championship with a record of 32-2-2. Taylor moved from the Stars in Peewee to the Etobicoke Dolphins.
She put up 31 points in 38 games to help lead the Dolphins to the 2019-20 PWHL season title. She followed with 20 points in 38 games for the Stoney Creek Junior Sabres.
She was selected and helped lead Team Ontario to the 2019 Canadian National Women's U18 title with a game winning goal to advance to the final and eventual GOLD at at the Canadian U18 Championship.
Taylor has also excelled in the classroom as a four-year Principal's Honor List student. She was an Ontario Scholar and won a Gold Academic Pin and Math Proficiency awards.
From her online school bio - St. Lawrence University, where she plays on the University team:
She plays in the ECAC league for the St. Lawrence Saints University team, earned Rookie honors by tearing it up on the ice while also maintaining annual presence on the Dean’s list.
She is majoring in Biochemistry.
This year Taylor accepted an invitation from Team China as they prepare for the 2022 Winter Olympics. Currently she is training in Russia playing in the Russian WHL; next stop is the Olympics, and then back to her spot at St Lawrence.
What a kid! The Lum family was a big reward for a minor hockey coach. Thanks Karen, Sam & Nicole...and Taylor!
