North Star Legends The Pounders
The Pounder Family's love of hockey and multiple contributions to the Club form part of our storied foundation.

Lloyd Pounder VP – In Memorium
Lloyd served over 25 years as a Coach, Executive and Director; he was valued for his even-keeled views of operational issues, readiness to help. He provided much unheralded background service and guidance, and was enthusiastic in fundraising at Club bingos. He is sorely missed.  RIP.

Gary Pounder
Gary holds an unmatched club record - 12 years as a North Star; played his entire career from Minor Atom to Juvenile AAA with 3 OHF Championships.

Cheryl Pounder Honorary North Star 2006

Cheryl has been involved in training many North Star players over the years and a great supporter while raising her own family of hockey players with husband Mike. She keeps very active in her public speaking career and you have seen her on Hockey Night in Canada telecasts. She also moves forward as a Champion of many important causes. Cheryl was presented with her North Star jersey as Honorary Member in 2005 when she brought her Gold Medals to the Club banquet to the delight of the North Star players.

Career highlights:
Two Olympic gold medals (2002, 2006)
Five World Championship gold medals (1994, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004) and one silver (2005)
Seven Nations Cup gold medals (1996, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005) and one silver (2003)
