Congratulation North Stars, u18 OHF Champions!

What a ride for the 2024-25 U18 AA Stars. Another OHF championship for the MNS, our first since 2015.

The Stars started the tournament playing the #8 ranked Waterloo Wolves on Friday afternoon. After falling behind 1-0 in the first, the stars came  storming back, scoring 3 unanswered ,and take the game 3-2. Next on tap was the #9 ranked Oakville Rangers. The game was a tight checking affair , after the North Stars conceded two quick goals. They managed to get within one . at 2-1 , before Oakville sealed the deal with an open netter 3-1 loss. This set up the important Saturday morning game against the #5 ranked, and tournament host Milton Menace. The packed arena saw a fast paced entertaining 0-0 tie with both goalies making 10-bell saves. The task was clear beat the Soo Jr Greyhounds at 4pm  on three hours rest and punch your ticket to the semi-finals. Your Stars took care of business. Winning 1-0. Finishing the round -robin in third place with 5GF and 5GA. The opponent was set .The Waterloo Wolves at 8am Sunday morning.. The U18 Stars took care of the rematch with Waterloo winning 3-0 and punched their ticket into the finals at 4pm. The Stars opponent would be the Oakville Rangers. Time to payback their round robin loss. The Stars would score first, 5 minutes in, Only to see Oakville respond 3 minutes later. The second period would remain scoreless. Setting  up a tension filled third for all of the hundreds of fans in attendance. The Stars would score in the first minute of third period and never look back, adding a third goal as insurance with 5 minutes remaining. The U18AA stars would finish the tournament with 11GF and 6 GA. Conceding only 1 goal in the last 4 games. Proving once again that Defence wins championships
 The 17 players on the U18 North Stars end their minor hockey careers as OHF provincial champs. with a 59-12-7 record. Which also saw them be  the champions of Mississauga Early Bird Tournament, The Sarnia Silverstick, the GTHL Regular season and GTHL play-offs. The five-fecta.
